Christopher Peter Meloni, an American actor is best known for his role in the tv show Law & Order Special Victims Unit. His interest in acting began in his early college days. He studied acting at University of Colorado at Boulder. He has been in films and television, but it was his small-screen characters which earned him fame and an extensive audience. The actor has the ability to create characters that reflect both good and bad sides that are part of our legal system. He has the ability to attract the attention of his audience easily. He portrayed the role of a serial killer on the first TV series he appeared in however he later chose to take on the role that of a NYPD detective. In recognition of his performance on tiny screens, he has received many nominations for highly coveted Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. The piercingly blue eyes of his face have been deemed to be the most appealing characteristic. The eyes have been employed to depict rough characters as well as give them a sense of humour. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
