Awkwafina

Awkwafina began as an American musician and rapper making sly songs that addressed questions of race and sexual identities with a funny twist. Prior to her move to Hollywood, she had the opportunity to release a number of songs. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. Alongside classical music and jazz, she started to study hip-hop during her teens. While at school, she studied journalism as well as women's studies in college even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a time. The focus on music until the time she completed her degree. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album featured other hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC BitcheUSD. The track that was published specifically linked to The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her 2015 travel guide. As a musician and an author on her resume she began looking for an actor for a third venture. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she scored a number of notable roles that were a breakthrough, like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
