Camila Cabello, also known as Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao, is a Cuban-American actress, singer, and songwriter. Born on March 3, 1997, in Coj mar, Havana, Cuba, Cabello grew up in East Havana and later moved to Miami, Florida, with her mother. Her father, Alejandro Cabello, is Mexican and was born in Mexico City, but later moved to Cuba. Cabello gained American citizenship in 2008 and attended Miami Palmetto High School before leaving in the 2012-2013 school year to pursue her singing career. Despite gaining fame as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, Cabello always wanted to establish herself as a solo artist. In 2016, she left Fifth Harmony and released her debut solo single, "Crying in the Club."
